You can customize some of the automation rules used by WaffleBot for automatically moving cards across your Waffle board. You can customize these settings from Settings > Columns on your Waffle board.
Note: Issues and pull request cards on a Waffle board can be connected together using closing and connecting keywords. Connected cards move together on a Waffle board using the rules described in this help article.
New issues are automatically added to the Inbox.
Moving to In Progress when Creating a Branch
Issues are automatically moved to the column with the Work Started indicator when a branch is created referencing the issue number. WaffleBot also assigns the person creating the branch as an assignee on the issue. To customize this rule, drag the Work Started indicator to the desired column.
Moving to Review when Opening a Pull Request
New Contributor Pull Requests
New pull requests from contributors are automatically moved to the column with the New Contributor PRs indicator. A contributor is a person who isn't explicitly a member of your organization or personal account, but wants to contribute to your project via pull requests and creating new issues. To customize this rule, drag the New Contributor PRs indicator under the desired column.
New Collaborator Pull Requests
New pull requests from collaborators are automatically moved to the column with the New Collaborator PRs indicator. A collaborator is someone who has been granted write access to the main repository of a project. To customize this rule, drag the New Collaborator PRs indicator under the desired column.

Additionally, the creator of the pull request is automatically added as an Assignee on the pull request. If the pull request is connected to an issue, the pull request creator will also automatically be added as an Assignee on the issue if they're not already assigned. We suggest using GitHub Pull Request Reviews, assigning people reviewing Pull Requests as Reviewers.
Issues and Pull Requests are automatically moved to the done column when they are closed (or merged for pull requests). The first column in the Closed section without a label is used as the done column.
Pull Requests are automatically moved to columns as they are deployed to testing and production environments. Learn more about configuring automatic deployment tracking.
Don't want to connect your pull requests to issues?
If you reference an issue number in your pull request title or description but DO NOT use GitHub's closing keywords or Waffle's "Connect" keywords prior to the issue reference, a separate PR Issue card will be displayed on your Waffle board for that pull request. Likewise, if no issue references are present in the pull request title or description, a separate PR Issue card will be displayed on your Waffle board.
