• Does GitHub Projects have the same features as Waffle? No. Some notable differences are no epic or dependency support, issue sizing is done via labels, and a limit of five linked repositories per board. Want to make your voice heard on the feature direction for GitHub Projects? Contact the GitHub support team.
  • Is GitHub Projects free to use? Yes.
  • What data will migrate? ¬†project name, column title, and card rank per column.¬†
  • What doesn't migrate? Images, attachments, dependencies, and sizes do not migrate.
  • Who can migrate my projects? You are the only person that can migrate a project in your personal account. Only organization owners in GitHub can migrate projects within an organization.
  • How long does migration take? It depends on the size of your project (contact us if it has been longer than one hour). Your Waffle board will show a migration running status and complete status.
  • What happens to my data if I don't migrate? You will lose board column setup, card rank, and cards from multiple repos in one project.
  • Can I export my data instead of migrate? We do not have an export option at this time.
  • Why does my board look incomplete? Even though we say migration is complete from the Waffle end, your board could look unfinished until GitHub finishes populating the data.
  • What about my automations? Learn about GitHub Project automation here.
  • Does GitHub Projects limit to 5 linked repositories? Yes, 5 is the limit of linked repositories. However, there is no limit to the number of repositories that you can have content coming from onto the board. Linked repositories don't limit any board functionality - they help refine the search panel, and that's about it! They are totally optional to use.
  • Any other migration options? Our friends at ZenHub are offering a free trial and on-boarding help to any Waffle users who are looking for a new project management home. Please reach out to them if you are interested!
